What can artificial intelligence actually do, and what are the risks involved? Prof. Dr Maria Leitner, holder of the Chair of Artificial Intelligence in IT Security at the University of Regensburg, was a guest on the radio station Gong FM Regensburg and spoke about how AI systems work in everyday life.
A key topic of the discussion was the secure handling of personal data. Prof. Leitner explained what information one should avoid entrusting to AI applications – such as sensitive personal data, passwords or confidential documents – and why it is so important to use AI tools mindfully in our digital daily lives.
On AI Day (external link, opens in a new window) on 25 September, Prof. Leitner will also be running a workshop entitled ‘Deepfakes & Co.: How SMEs can protect themselves against AI-based cyberattacks’. (external link, opens in a new window) In this interactive cyber-security simulation for SMEs and anyone else interested, participants will gain practical insight into how manipulated videos and audio files are created and the challenges they pose for IT security.
