This year’s Girls’ Day took place on April 23, 2026, during which the FIDS Equal Opportunity Officer offered a dedicated program for the first time. A total of 29 high school students from Regensburg and the surrounding area visited the faculty.
After a brief welcome, potential career paths at the university were presented. The group then attended a lecture and discussed it together before heading to the cafeteria for lunch.
After lunch, over coffee and cookies, the students had the opportunity to talk with female researchers, professors, system administrators, and students, as well as ask questions.
In the afternoon, the students participated in various workshops led by professors from the FIDS, immersing themselves in the world of computer science and data science.
Through Girls’ Day, the students gained a comprehensive insight into everyday university life at the Faculty of Computer Science and Data Science.
