News: Walk-Lab: Theory and Practice

The Walk-Lab lets students engage with promenadology through experimental walks in Regensburg, addressing themes such as community coexistence, urban perception, and socio-ecological vulnerability, supported by designed routes and tools.

12 May 2026, by DIMAS

Since the early twentieth century, walking has been used across disciplines as a way to explore and understand social and material contexts, offering insights into how we read urban and social landscapes today. The Walk-Lab lets students engage with promenadology through experimental walks in Regensburg, addressing themes such as community coexistence, urban perception, and socio-ecological vulnerability, supported by designed routes and tools. Participants contribute to the exhibition “Frictions on Landscape”, join workshops at M26, and take part in the symposium on 19–20 June, alongside preparatory online sessions and a short reflective assignment.

ONLINE: 17:00-19:00 on 27 May, 17 June and 1 July

IN PRESENCE:  18-20 June (details on SPUR)
