The incentive system for third-party funding at the University of Regensburg serves to motivate and support researchers to increase the acquisition of third-party funding for research projects at recognised funding institutions. The University supports promising research ideas with up to €22,500 and pays lump-sum expense allowances for third-party funding applications submitted. All members of the university are eligible to apply. Application eligibility, procedures and funding conditions are regulated in the guidelines for the incentive system for third-party funding (opens in a new window). (This PDF is not accessible). The funding opportunities comprise five lines, which can be applied for directly online from the university network or via VPN:
Funding lines
- Line 2: EU - lump sums of up to €3,750 for EU third-party funding proposals
- Line 3: Coordination - up to €22,500 for the coordination of large DFG proposals
- Line 4: Seed Grant - to support the planned submission of an individual or group research proposal
- Line 5: Basic Incentive for Third-Party Funding - lump sums of €1,000 for third-party funding proposals
- Line 6: Outside the Box - lump sum of €3,750 as start-up funding for innovative, high-quality research projects
Funds from the financial incentive system for third-party funding are not taken into account when calculating the remaining funds.
The Research Council decides on the allocation of funds. Applications can be submitted at any time. However, applications submitted less than two weeks before the respective meeting can only be dealt with at the next meeting. The meetings of the Research Council take place once a month during the lecture period (see overview of meeting dates).
