Stays abroad
We recommend that all students study abroad in a French-, Italian- or Spanish-speaking country. Studying abroad is a central part of every language degree programme.
The stay abroad is usually started after the 3rd or 4th semester; the start of the period abroad usually falls in the winter semester.

Recognition of academic achievements from abroad
For binding recognition planning, detailed consultation with the module coordinators and the learning agreement coordinator of the institute is essential before the stay abroad.
You can find out which steps are generally necessary to achieve recognition of study and examination achievements from abroad (external link, opens in a new window) on the pages of the International Office.

Placement Tests
Placement Tests determine the level of your language skills and the language course that is right for you. It is in your own interest to take part in the Placement Tests.
