Karin Zetterholm: The Pseudo-Clementine Homilies and Non-Jesus-Oriented Jews. An Attempt at Reconstructing the Social Milieu of the Homilies

The study tries to account for the diverse traditions found in the Homilies (pagan, Jewish, and Christian) in light of recent research on Greco-Roman voluntary associations. It focuses in particular on the inclusion of rabbinic traditions in the Homilies and suggests that the author(s)/editor(s) was active in a milieu that included not only Jewish and gentile Jesus-adherents but non-Jesus-oriented Jews as well.
