Reidar Aasgaard: Who were the audience of the apocryphal Infancy Gospel of Thomas (IGT)?

For what kind of audience may this second century story about Jesus as a child have been intended? Recent converts to the Christian faith? Curious believers among the common people? Early Christian children? Or some other target group? During the last decade this has been a central and ongoing debate among scholars. After a brief sketch of the outline of the KAL volume on IGT, the presentation will give an account of this debate and reflect on the implications of it.
