Welcome to the German Department at the University of Regensburg.

At our department, we explore the long history of language and literature, engage in theoretical debates, study the peculiarities of dialects, improve our rhetorical skills, examine performative aspects, discover language and literature in the age of the new media, and teach German both domestically and internationally.

We both focus on specific facets of the discipline and embrace German Studies in general. The full range of our interests is reflected in the areas of our department:
