Programs with state examinations (including teaching)

Programs which end in state examinations are examined by the state, or federal state. These include teacher training programs, medical programs, pharmacy and law. The standard period of study is between seven and thirteen semesters, depending on the subject. The program and examinations are uniformly managed across the state or country.

Note: subject-specific higher education entrance qualifications (fachgebundene Hochschulreife) only allow a student to study specific subjects or programs.

Teacher training programs

When you register for a teacher training program at Universität Regensburg, you need to decide at which of the four types of schools we have in Bavaria you want to teach in later: the four types are called Grundschule, Mittelschule, Realschule and Gymnasium.
