Basic information on stays abroad for teaching students in special needs education

For teaching degree students in special needs education, stays abroad are possible as part of school internships or as a semester abroad. The best time for your stay abroad is in the 7th semester or later. The 5th and 6th semesters are unfavourable for a stay abroad, as the internships accompanying your studies have to be completed during these semesters.

Co-operations with the following universities are currently planned at our department:

Further co-operations are planned with the PH Vorarlberg (external link, opens in a new window) and the University of South Bohemia (external link, opens in a new window). If you are interested in a semester abroad at these two universities, please contact the Chair of Learning Disability Education (external link, opens in a new window).

To study abroad, please apply directly to the International Office at least one year in advance. Destinations within Europe are possible within the framework of ERASMUS+. However, special needs education students can also study abroad outside Europe. At the beginning of the winter semester, the International Office provides information on possible ways to go abroad.
