Certificate German as a Foreign Language

The subject German as a foreign language deals with the language, culture and literature of German-speaking countries from an international perspective. The additional studies programme in German as a foreign language enables students to work as mediators of the German language(s), culture(s) and literature(s) worldwide. The supplementary studies programme in German as a foreign language is a certificate programme that runs alongside your studies. The certificate programme is divided into five modules.

Enrolment for the certificate programme: You can enrol for the supplementary studies for the certificate in German as a foreign language via the campus portal of the University of Regensburg by applying for a double degree programme. To do this, you will need confirmation from us that you have been admitted to the supplementary studies DaF programme. You must then upload this confirmation when enrolling via SPUR (under "Upload documents for enrolment"). Please note the respective enrolment deadlines and come to our office hours or send us an e-mail in good time for approval of your admission to the supplementary studies programme in German as a foreign language. We need your certificate of enrolment and, if you are not studying philology, please send us a short letter of motivation explaining why you would like to take the additional course.

The DaF supplementary studies programme is divided into five modules, each with two achievements, which can be completed in any order. Once you have completed all the modules, you can apply for a certificate from the Examination Office.
