Repeat examinations

Enrolment required

From now on, enrolment/re-registration is also required for repeat examinations! (Art. 84 para. 1 sentence 7 BayHIG - enrolment requirement for all university examinations)

Retake period

A failed examination must generally be repeated in the following semester. This deadline is not suspended by exmatriculation or leave of absence. You must register independently via FlexNow to retake an examination, there is no automatic examination registration!

Waiver of a repeat examination

You can submit a declaration of waiver to waive your right to retake the examination. However, this is only possible if you have not yet taken the relevant repeat examination and, in the case of an existing and valid registration, the cancellation deadline has not yet expired.

Repeating a failed repeat examination (= 3rd attempt)

The third attempt must be taken in the semester following the first failed resit. The application must be submitted in good time so that registration for the third attempt can take place within the regular registration period.

Recognition of achievements

Recognition of achievements that you acquired before starting your studies in Regensburg

Have you already studied a business or economics subject or completed an apprenticeship? You may be able to have your achievements recognised.
You must submit an application for recognition within the first semester at the University of Regensburg for all credits earned before the start of studies. Please contact us for this.
We will also provide you with a semester classification for the Registrar's Office.

Recognition of credits earned during your studies in Germany

For the recognition of vhb, SITA, language and rhetoric courses, internships, etc., please submit an informal written application(template above). You must apply for recognition at the latest in the semester following the semester in which the coursework was completed.
In order to save resources, please only use one application for several similar recognition programmes (e.g. several vhb courses in the elective module group).

All recognition must be applied for within the examination deadline: In Bachelor's degree programmes therefore by the end of the 7th semester, in Master's degree programmes by the end of the 5th semester.

Recognition of achievements from abroad

To have study and examination achievements recognised that you have completed during a stay abroad, please proceed as follows:

  1. Before your stay abroad, please read the information sheet with important information for students and lecturers of the Faculty of Business, Economics and Real Estate regarding the recognition of study and examination achievements abroad: Information sheet on recognition abroad | PDF
  2. Please submit your application using the following LUCOM form. As the data for this is taken from your course planning form, it is essential that this is up-to-date and that all necessary authorisations have been obtained. Information on updating the CPF can be found on the homepage of the International Office.
