Universität Regensburg Applicants

The following information about registering for the DSH test is directed exclusively at applicants to Universität Regensburg. All those that have applied for a degree program at Universität Regensburg and have received confirmation about their admission in the form of an official letter are considered UR applicants.

How Do Universität Regensburg Applicants Register for the DSH Test?

Applicants can register for the DSH test by filling out the registration form (see below).

You will need a registration number and a proof of language sufficiency to register for the test. The number can be found on the Application for Admission to Studies for International Applicants, which you will receive along with your letter of admission or in the file number.

Please send your proof of language proficiency to dsh@ur.de within 120 minutes of submitting your registration.

After checking your registration, you will receive more information about the test by email.

Which Language Certificates Are Accepted for the DSH Test?

OTH Regensburg only accepts the following language certificates for the DSH test:

  • DSD II - at least level B2 in all parts of the exam
  • DSH - at least DSH-1
  • Goethe-Zertifikat Deutsch - at least B2 (overall result at least “very good” or “good” for B2)
  • ÖSD - at least B2 (overall result at least “very good” or “good” for B2)
  • onSET-Deutsch score of at least 95
  • telc Deutsch - at least B2 (overall result at least “very good” or “good” for B2)
  • TestDaF - at least TDN3 in all parts of the exam
  • UNIcert Deutsch - at least Level II
  • Final exam certificates from the Advanced Preparatory German II course at Universität Regensburg (overall result at least “satisfactory” or 70% )

OTH Regensburg Applicants

The following information about registering for the DSH test is directed exclusively at OTH Regensburg applicants. All those that have applied for a degree program at OTH Regensburg and have received confirmation about their admission in the form of an official letter of admission are considered OTH Regensburg applicants.

How Do OTH Regensburg Applicants Register for the DSH Test?

OTH Regensburg applicants can register for the DSH test by filling out the registration form (see below) and submitting their proof of language proficiency and letter of admission to dsh@ur.de within 120 minutes of submitting their registration.

After checking your registration, you will receive more information about the test by email.

Which Language Certificates Are Accepted for the DSH Test?

UR Students or OTH Regensburg Students

The following information about registering for the DSH test is directed exclusively at UR students or OTH Regensburg students. All those who are enrolled as regular students at either UR or OTH at the time of registration and who can present valid student ID are considered students.

How Do UR or OTH Regensburg Students Register for the DSH Test?

UR or OTH Regensburg students can register for the DSH test by filling out the registration form (see below) and submitting their proof of language proficiency and certificate of enrollment to dsh@ur.de within 120 minutes of submitting the registration form.

After checking your registration, proof of language proficiency, and certificate of enrollment, you will receive more information about the test by email.

Which Language Certificates Are Accepted for the DSH Test?

The following language certificates are accepted for UR or OTH students:

  • DSD II - at least level B2 in all parts of the exam
  • DSH - at least DSH-1
  • Goethe-Zertifikat Deutsch - at least B2 (overall result at least “very good” or “good” for B2)

Participants in the Preparatory German Courses

The following information about registering for the DSH test is directed exclusively at participants in the advanced preparatory German courses at Universität Regensburg.

How Do Participants in the Advanced Preparatory German Courses Register for the DSH Test?

Participants in the Advanced Preparatory German courses are automatically registered at the end of the course. The date of the test corresponds directly to the end of the course (course during the winter semester: DSH test in January; course during the summer semester: DSH test in July). Another separate registration therefore is not necessary. However, please note that the following requirements must be met in order to be eligible for the DSH test on one of the abovementioned dates:

  • Regular attendance (at least 75%)
  • Successful completion of a Study Strategy course lasting 2 whole semesters

Participants in the Advanced Preparatory German courses who do not meet these requirements cannot automatically register for the corresponding DSH test date.


Outside Candidates

The following information about registering for the DSH test is directed exclusively at outside candidates who are interested in taking the test. All those without a letter of admission or student ID from Universität Regensburg or OTH Regensburg are considered outside candidates.

How Do Outside Candidates Register for the DSH Test?

Outside candidates can register for the DSH test by filling out the registration form (see below) and submitting their proof of language proficiency to dsh@ur.de within 120 minutes of sending the registration form. After checking your registration and proof of language proficiency you will receive more information about the test by email.

  • DSD II - at least level B2 in all parts of the exam
  • DSH - at least DSH-1
