Information on the modules

The study regulations of the Master's programme provide for an external biochemical research laboratory course, which can be completed either in industry or at a research institution in Germany or abroad.

Students can apply for a semester of leave of absence for the external internship.

Information on leave of absence can be found on the Registrar's Office website. Please note the Registrar's Office's information on performance and examinations during the leave of absence.

Industrial internship

If you would like to complete the external internship in the pharmaceutical-biotechnological industry, you will primarily need to organise it on your own initiative - however, you can draw on the experience of previous years of study and the help of the Student Advisory Service.

Research internships abroad

General information on stays abroad during your studies and the dates of the annual information events can be obtained from the University's International Office.

Recognition of externally acquired academic achievements

Please clarify the possible recognition of academic achievements from your external internship with the Student Advisory Service during the planning phase.

After completing your external internship, please submit the following documents to the Student Counselling Service:

• Confirmation from the supervising institution (topic, period, evaluation of the internship completed). Transcript of Records" if applicable
• Your own report (maximum 2 pages) detailing the objectives, the methods used and the results of the internship completed.
• Completed recognition form.

After the examination board chairperson has checked the documents submitted, the examination office will create the corresponding entry (recognition) in the FlexNow examination system.
