General Student Advisory Service
The General Student Advisory Service at the University of Regensburg is the point of contact for all students who are interested in general student information and advice, student support and counselling units or parent-specific study advice (external link, opens in a new window).
The General Student Advisory Service always offers a taster course during the Whitsun and autumn holidays, during which you can get an idea of the university and its degree programmes. All interested students are welcome!
The University of Regensburg offers talented and high-achieving pupils the opportunity to take part in courses as early students and - if desired - to take examinations. The credits earned can be recognised for later studies.
Study information day
At the Regensburg University Information Day, prospective students can get to know the degree programmes offered by the Ostbayerische Technische Hochschule Regensburg (OTH Regensburg), the University of Regensburg and the Hochschule für katholische Kirchenmusik und Musikpädagogik Regensburg (HfKM) in one day.

Offers for pupils and teachers
Regensburg Experimental Laboratory (external link, opens in a new window)
Since 2003, pupils have been able to familiarise themselves with important foundations and methods of genetic engineering and the work of the Department of Developmental Biology in the Regensburg Experimental Laboratory using the topic "The genetic fingerprint". The visit to the laboratory also provides an opportunity to engage with the public debate and their own ideas about genetic engineering.
RIGeL school visits (external link, opens in a new window)
PhD students from the Faculty of Biology visit a school with appropriate equipment and supervise pupils in experiments such as DNA isolation, PCR and gel electrophoresis. A lecture on a current scientific topic is also offered.
RIGel Alumni Talks (external link, opens in a new window)
About four times a year, the graduate school RIGel invites former doctoral students to the Alumni Talks to provide an insight into their careers after successful completion and thus enable an exchange with current doctoral students. Students, prospective students, pupils and teachers are also cordially invited to these meetings.

There are numerous campaigns, projects and contacts at the University of Regensburg that are committed to helping young women and men find access to STEM subjects and become enthusiastic about the associated research areas and careers.
