FoesaMINT

FoesaMINT is a project dedicated to researching and advancing cooperations between in-school and out-of-school STEM programs with a focus on gender.

The goal of the project is to identify relevant factors for the success of in-school and out-of-school STEM (gender) programs and to connect existing programs. To this end, FoesaMINT investigates and evaluates the individual environments of female students and the interrelation of in-school and out-of-school learning contexts as well as the implementation of existing concerted STEM programs with an emphasis on gender aspects in cross-sectional and longitudinal studies, using multiple methods to identify common conditions for success.

The research results and experience reports will be evaluated scientifically and prepared for practical use, and made available to STEM stakeholders for internal training and as a scientific basis for funding applications. Based on the findings, existing programs for students from the practice partners will be developed further in cooperation with the partners laying emphasis on sustainability and contextual expansion.

FoesaMINT is carried out by the University of Regensburg and Friedrich-Alexander-University of Erlangen-Nuremberg. Practical partners include the MINT-Vernetzungsstelle Deutschland MINTvernetzt, the Körber-Stiftung, matrix GmbH & Co. KG with its zdi-BSO-MINT offerings, MINT-EC – Das nationale Excellence-Schulnetzwerk, the Deutsche Telekom Stiftung with its Junior-Ingenieur-Akademien and CyberMentor.
