- Learning and instruction with digital media
- Use of online measures and new technologies to capture teaching and learning processes
Kathleen Stürmer holds the Chair of Educational Science. She is a recognised and internationally visible scientist in the field of empirical educational research. Her research interests are expressed in a series of research projects funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG), among others. For example, she is a co-applicant of the DFG research group Cosima (external link, opens in a new window) (Facilitating diagnostic competences in simulation-based learning environments in the university context FOR 2385) and the EARLI Centre for Excellence in Research (E-CER) "Teacher Professional Vision: Toward Theoretical, Methodological, and Educational Synergy". (external link, opens in a new window) She authored numerous (international) journal articles in renowned journals. Before accepting the call to the University of Regensburg, she held the professorship for Effective Teaching and Learning Arrangements and before that the professorship for Learning Trajectories at the Hector Institute for Empirical Educational Research at the University of Tübingen and was deputy director of the Tübingen School of Education.
