Kathleen Stürmer (Educational Science)

At the Chair of Educational Science, the focus of our teaching and research is on central (empirical) questions of learning and instruction. In particular, we investigate how professional development can be effectively organised and sustainably supported (e.g., in the teaching profession). We utilise innovative methods, procedures and theoretical approaches to actively develop the field in research and teaching.

Prof Dr Kathleen Stürmer

Kathleen Stürmer has been Professor of Educational Science at the University of Regensburg since October 2025. She is a recognised, internationally connected researcher in the field of empirical educational research. Her particular focus is on the areas of expertise and teacher research. She is involved in central university committees as well as in various scientific organisations (GEBF, EARLI) and is a member of several scientific advisory boards in the research field (e.g. Centre for Research and Transfer: Tübingen Digital Teaching Lab, TueDiLB)
