Rebecca Rester completed both her Bachelor's and Master's degree at the University of Regensburg from 2020 to 2025. During her Master's degree, she took part in the double degree programme of the University of Regensburg in cooperation with the Finnish partner university Turku and spent a study visit in Finland. In her Master's thesis entitled "Competencies students need for using LLMs according to higher education teachers", she investigated competencies that students need for using large language models from the perspective of higher education teachers. Her research interests lie in particular in the area of metacognition in connection with information retrieval processes.
