SOSNetLab – A smart toolkit for knowledge brokers to visualise social opportunity spaces

From 1 February 2022 to 31 January 2025, the Chair of Pedagogy II is taking part in an international project entitled “SOSNetLab – A Smart Toolkit for Knowledge Brokers to Visualise Social Opportunity Spaces”. The three-year project is funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

The main aim of the SOSNetLab project is to build an innovative learning recommender that enables a better understanding of the structures of social networks, tracks the dissemination of information and experiences, and thus helps to make knowledge resources more readily available and better tailored to local communities.

The specific objectives of this project are the participatory development, testing and evaluation of offline and online tools. To this end, a mixed-methods approach has been adopted, incorporating design sprints, social network analysis, natural language processing, machine learning and qualitative surveys. In addition, a series of training sessions and workshops will be designed and delivered to facilitate the use of the Learning Recommender.
