Tajikistan is responding to the increasing border violence with a new approach to foreign policy

In light of escalating border violence, Tajikistan has approved a $57 million agreement with China for new border posts. At the same time, the country is opening up diplomatically to the Taliban regime in Afghanistan—with high-level talks and the first official ambassadorial meeting in February.
