In the February issue of the legal education journal JURA (2/2026, pp. 178–190) (external link, opens in a new window), Professor Hartmann, his research assistant Dipl.-Jur. Laura Macketanz and stud. iur. Luisa Oberloher published an original set of questions from the beginners exercise. The intermediate examination paper is from the summer semester of 2025 at the University of Regensburg. As always, the article includes the facts of the case and detailed guidance on how to solve it. In addition – and this is a new feature – an original answer is included. This is the exam solution by Luisa Oberloher, who was in her second semester during the summer term of 2025. Ms Oberloher’s original answer is set out in italics and supplemented to illustrate the standard expected of a ‘good’ exam answer (15 marks) in comparison with the ‘model answer’. For her work, Ms Oberloher received the ‘Best Paper Award’, which Professor Hartmann has been presenting since the summer semester of 2017.
