On 22 October 2025, Timothy Wu, a renowned US professor at Columbia Law School and former special adviser on antitrust law to Presidents Obama and Biden, attended Prof. Kühling’s lecture on European law. Wu gave a lecture on the implications of the concentration of private power in the wake of the rise of the major Big Tech companies. In doing so, he highlighted the global significance of this issue to the students and presented approaches that could be used to counter these threatening developments. He also spoke about his work at the White House and addressed a wide range of questions in detail – from legal classifications and the assessment of technological developments to the current political situation in the US.
