Soldiers shape the public image of the Bundeswehr. They must uphold the free democratic basic order. What does this mean for their behaviour in private chat groups? These and other questions are raised in an original end-of-semester examination paper on general administrative law. This area of law is the subject of the ‘Administrative Law I’ (external link, opens in a new window) lecture in Regensburg, which Professor Hartmann is teaching this semester. The case study, which Hartmann authored together with Lisa Horstmann (external link, opens in a new window), a former assistant professor, has been published in the latest issue of the training journal *Juristische Schulung* (JuS) (external link, opens in a new window). JuS 2024, pp. 341–346, is available at no extra cost in the University of Regensburg catalogue.
