CV:

Ricarda Wünsch, born in 1999, studied a dual-subject Bachelor’s degree in Political Science (first subject) and Iberian and Romance Studies (second subject) at Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg from the winter semester of 2017 until the summer semester of 2021. She completed the consecutive Master’s programme in Political Science (also at FAU) from the winter semester of 2021, graduating in October 2023.

From 2017 to 2018, Ms Wünsch worked first as an intern and subsequently as a freelancer at the Erlanger Nachrichten. In addition, during her studies from 2018 to 2023, Ms Wünsch worked as a working student at Siemens Healthineers and Siemens AG in various departments. Among other things, she was responsible for internal and international communications, designed web-based trainings and wrote company-internal columns.

After completing her Master’s degree, Ms Wünsch worked from November to December 2023 under a fixed-term contract for the Chair of Political Philosophy, Theory and History of Ideas (Prof. Dr Eva Odzuck) at the University of Regensburg. From February 2024, she took up her position as a research assistant (50%) at Prof. Dr Odzuck’s chair, where she is also pursuing a PhD. Since February 2024, Ms Wünsch has also been volunteering at the Erlangen Women’s Centre.

Research interests:

  • John Rawls’ political theory
  • The impact of digital technologies (particularly algorithms) on democratic societies
  • Deliberative theories of democracy

Implications of the use of algorithmic systems in the digitalised public sphere for democratic citizenship – John Rawls’ deliberative ideal of citizenship as a benchmark
