CV:
Stefan Wallner, born in 1996, completed his Bachelor’s degree in political science (first major) and media studies (second major) at the University of Regensburg from the summer semester 2016 to the winter semester 2020/21. He then went on to complete his Master’s degree in democracy studies, also at the University of Regensburg, from the winter semester 2021/22 to the winter semester 2024/25.
Alongside his studies, Stefan Wallner worked in various roles for film festivals. In 2020, he served as Artistic Associate at the Mannheim-Heidelberg International Film Festival. In 2018–2019, 2022–2023 and 2025, he volunteered at the Transit Filmfest Regensburg (which was still known as the Heimspiel Filmfest in 2018–2019). In addition to his main responsibilities in programme planning and editorial work, he served as co-festival director there in 2019, as head of the marketing team from 2022 to 2023, and as head of the film education programme ‘Transit Filmclub’ in 2025.
Whilst studying for his Master’s degree, Stefan Wallner was employed (with breaks) from 2022 to 2025 as a Student Assistant for the Chair of Political Philosophy, Theory and History of Ideas (Prof. Dr. Eva Odzuck) at the University of Regensburg. In the winter semester of 2025/26 and the summer semester of 2026, he takes up a position there as an Research Assistant (50%) replacing Dr. Sarah Rebecca Strömel during her research leave.

Emmanuel Levinas and his philosophy of the political (particularly the figure of the Third)
Political theory’s approach to contingency and alterity
- (Political-theoretical) conceptions of the subject in contrast to contemporary individualism
