Habilitation
The habilitation is the highest academic degree that can be obtained at an academic university. It gives particularly qualified young academics the opportunity to carry out independent research and teaching tasks and to qualify for appointment to a professorship under the academic supervision of a specialised mentor.
Requirements
Applicants who are pedagogically suitable and particularly qualified for academic work can apply for acceptance as a habilitation candidate. The ability to carry out academic work is usually demonstrated by the outstanding quality of a doctorate, as well as by corresponding academic work and achievements.
Detailed information can be found in the current habilitation regulations.
