Prof. Dr. Sven Weinzierl

Sven Weinzierl, born in 1990, earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Informatics from Ansbach University of Applied Sciences between 2012 and 2016 and a Master's degree in Business Informatics from Otto-Friedrich University of Bamberg between 2016 and 2018. After completing his Master's, he pursued his PhD at Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg (FAU) from 2018 to 2022. In April 2022, he successfully defended his dissertation titled “Deep Learning for Decision Support in Process Analysis and Monitoring: Design, Implementation and Evaluation of Accurate, Explainable and Effective Techniques”. From May 2022 to April 2026, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at FAU. During his time, he also completed a research stay at Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada. Since May 2026, Sven Weinzierl has been serving as an interim professor of the chair for Explainable Artificial Intelligence in Business Value Creation at the University of Regensburg.
