Internship program

The BAYHOST coordination office for Ukraine supports refugee lecturers, researchers and university managers from Ukraine in finding mentors for an internship at a Bavarian institute of higher education.
In the framework of an internship the lecturers, researchers and university managers from Ukraine get to know the field of work they have been working in in Ukraine at a Bavarian university over a certain period of time. A mentor of a Bavarian university is there to support them.
An internship can include different modules:

  • Attending lectures
  • The mentors explain their field of work to the intern.
  • Taking part in team meetings, conferences and projects
  • Active involvement, e.g. by holding a guest lecture or a presentation about the corresponding field of work in Ukraine
  • Support in establishing cooperation with the intern’s university in Ukraine
  • Continuation of the intern’s research by using the resources at the host university in Bavaria (library, laboratory)

The aim of the internship is to receive a professional training that will be most of all useful for the further professional career in Ukraine and that can be acknowledged in Ukraine. If necessary, it can also facilitate the access to the German job market and / or cooperation between Germany and Ukraine in higher education.
At the end of the internship the interns receive a certificate describing the experience they have gained.
Requirements:

  • Good command of English or German language
  • At least one year of work experience at a university or research institute in Ukraine

Please contact us if you are interested in doing an internship at a Bavarian university or if you would like to support a colleague from Ukraine as a mentor.
