Introduction
Since June 2026, Jakob Steffens is a PhD student at the Chair of Programming and Software Engineering at the University of Regensburg.
During his studies, he focused on energy informatics and wrote his theses on energy system control in collaboration with Consolinno Energy. This gave him insights on energy systems, control algorithms, IoT architectures as well as simulations and digital twins.
His PhD research focuses on model-driven engineering of digital twins. He works on the AIM-PRO project, which aims at the development of digital twins for the education of AI literacy.
