Introduction

Since March 2026, Michael Mittermaier, PhD, has been a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Regensburg.

In this position, he conducts research in model-driven software engineering and digital twins. He has a strong background in software engineering, metaheuristic optimisation, and machine learning on graph structures due to his doctoral research. He applies his experiences in interdisciplinary collaborations such as one with agri-sustainability researchers at the University of Galway.
