The Regensburg Writing Workshop is a two-semester exercise that can be included in the modules GER-M 20, GER-M 36.2, GER-M 41. It begins in the winter semester.

A separate text must be prepared and presented for each session, in which a topic previously dealt with in the exercise (narrative beginning, narrative positions, dialogue structures, metaphors, plot structures, etc.) is dealt with. - see diagram (external link, opens in a new window)). Participation in the exercise culminates in a public reading at the end of each semester; students also take part in competitions and tenders. Close co-operation with university publications (e.g. Lautschrift) provides opportunities for publication.
The programme is interdisciplinary and open to students from all disciplines/faculties. The number of participants is limited: Applications to take part in the exercise must be submitted at least 14 days before the start of the semester. In addition, 2-3 short prose texts must be submitted (1-2 pages, maximum 5000 characters). These will be reviewed by the member of the teaching staff and a team of editors. The approved authors will be informed in good time before the start of the exercise (notice board PT, room 3.2.09).
