Curriculum Vitae

Born 1961 in Sinsheim. Abitur in 1980. He took up teacher training at the PH Heidelberg, where he passed the state examination in 1986; from 1987 he studied German and Linguistic Data Processing in Heidelberg, Mannheim and Trier; Magister Artium in 1992; from 1992 doctoral scholarship from the state of Rheinland-Pfalz, doctorate in 1994; from May 1995 to 2001: assistant lecturer for modern German Literature at the University of Trier; from winter semester 2001/02 to summer semester 2003: substitute for a C 4 professorship in the NdL, Trier; from winter semester 2003/04: Professorship for Modern German Literary Studies at the University of Regensburg

Main areas of teaching and research
Reception of natural sciences theories in literature (Enlightenment, Romanticism [Oskar Seidlin Prize of the Eichendorff Society 2002], Modernism), literature and new media, literary theory, Romanticism, contemporary literature

DFG project: Knowledge + Meaning in Literature; Project: Bavarian Academy of Writing; Monograph: "Kafka and Noise". Noise phenomena in early modernism.
