Knowledge transfer

Multilingualism is a topic of great social relevance – not least in the context of migration, education and social participation. The professorship is therefore specifically committed to knowledge transfer and shares findings from multilingualism research with a wider public. Many of these activities are organised in collaboration with colleagues from FoMuR and as part of the Regensburg Heritage-Language Forum. These include, in particular, exhibitions and various event formats, some of which are staged in cooperation with the City of Regensburg (see News).

Another key aim is to make findings on foreign language acquisition, against the backdrop of migration-related multilingualism, applicable to school practice. To this end, the professorship cooperates on various projects with scholars om foreign languages education and develops, amongst other things, materials and concepts for practical use in the classroom (see Publications).
