Key areas of research

Information Society Law

The ‘Law of the Information Society’ Research Centre was established in 2002 at the Faculty of Law of the University of Regensburg. With five participating chairs, it covers the entire spectrum of information law, ranging from civil law (Prof. Dr Jörg Fritzsche) through criminal law (Prof. Dr Henning Ernst Müller) and public law (Prof. Dr Jürgen Kühling, Prof. Dr Gerrit Manssen) to international law (Prof. Dr Robert Uerpmann-Wittzack).

Thematic Group on Real Estate and Capital Markets

The ‘Real Estate and Capital Markets’ research cluster at the University of Regensburg is a joint initiative of the Faculties of Law and Economics, with the participation of members of the Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Physics. The bringing together of these different disciplines offers the opportunity to examine the mechanisms and regulatory framework of the property and capital markets, as well as their interrelationships, on as broad a basis as possible.

Interview by “Endstation rechts” with Prof. Dr Gerrit Manssen

on the Bayreuth Administrative Court’s ruling, which led to the cancellation of the NPD federal party conference.

"About 10 days ago, the NPD had actually intended to hold its federal party conference in a marquee near Coburg. As is well known, things turned out differently. Since then, even the NPD itself has been spreading the story that its party conference was thwarted by the earth mounds piled up by the district authority and the construction work that had been started. The decision of the Bayreuth Administrative Court paints a different picture, as the administrative law expert Prof. Dr Gerrit Manssen also confirmed to us in an interview.”

Legal Tribune ONLINE – Interview with Prof. Dr Gerrit Manssen

“The EEG is a self-service shop.”

On Thursday, Federal Environment Minister Altmaier outlined his plans for a comprehensive reform of the EEG. In doing so, he hailed the Act as a “success story”. Gerrit Manssen explains in an LTO interview why he does not necessarily share this view. Earlier this year, the constitutional law expert concluded in an expert report for the textile industry that the green levy is unconstitutional.
