News: 'The Dangerous Dog: Case Studies in Juvenile Justice' has been published

23 April 2024, by Prof. Dr Bernd J. Hartmann, LL.M. (Virginia)

Tessa, a female Labrador, was in heat when she bit Moby, a male Maltese, on the ear. It took the city of Osnabrück less than ten days to inform Tessa’s owner that Tessa would therefore be assessed as a danger, and – as befits a diligent public authority – to give her the opportunity to comment on the facts relevant to the decision. Professor Hartmann and Dr Alicia Sütthoff (external link, opens in a new window), a former assistant professor, discuss how this matter unfolds and how the case should be assessed from a legal perspective in the latest issue of the training journal *Juristische Arbeitsblätter* (JA) (external link, opens in a new window). The case formed part of a resit examination for the lecture on General Administrative Law. JA 2024, pp. 305–312 (external link, opens in a new window), is available at no extra cost via the University of Regensburg’s online portal.
