Welcome to the Semiconductor Quantum Systems Group!
Our research aims at making quantum properties accessible on a chip. Currently, we focus on uncovering foundations of the physics of quantum bits in semiconductors and on controlling the interaction of light with condensed matter. Our experimental activities range from the design of quantum materials to measuring and controlling quantum properties: In our molecular beam epitaxy lab, we control crystal growth down to atomic monolayers, designing dedicated nanostructures. In device fabrication, we build electronic quantum circuits and nanophotonic systems from these nanostructures. The quantum circuits allow us to control single particles on-chip, in our cryo-labs. The nanophotonic systems allow us to engineer spontaneous emission and to realize cavity quantum electrodynamics experiments. With these experiments, we contribute to the development of quantum computing hardware and of novel quantum technology concepts.
