Welcome to the Physics Education website!
In physics education, we explore how physical concepts can be communicated clearly and learned effectively. We examine how students develop their understanding of physics concepts, which learning environments support this process, and how instruction can be designed innovatively. At the University of Regensburg, we combine this research with a practical training program for future physics teachers. Our goals are to advance physics education on a scientific basis, to guide and support our students throughout their studies, and to prepare them as effectively as possible for their future careers as physics teachers.
Many members of our team have not only conducted their own research but also possess teaching experience as former educators. Empirical research and a practical orientation are thus directly integrated into our teaching: We equip future physics teachers to design physics instruction that is contemporary, evidence-based, and practical.
