Prof. Dr Maria Thurmair; studied German language and literature, German language and literature and British studies at LMU Munich; 1985-1987 worked on the project "Text grammar of the German language (H. Weinrich)"; 1987 doctorate at LMU ("Modal particles and their combinations"); 1989-1995 research assistant at the Institute for German as a foreign language at LMU; 1996-1998 Professor of German as a foreign language and general foreign language didactics at the University of Rostock. Assistant at the Institute for German as a Foreign Language at LMU; 1996-1998 Professor of German as a Foreign Language and General Foreign Language Didactics at the University of Rostock; since 1 October 1998 Professor of German Language and Literature / German as a Foreign Language at the University of Regensburg.
Since 1998 various Erasmus stays in Italy, Spain, France, Finland, Estonia, Lithuania, Slovenia, Croatia, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Ukraine, Turkey
