Oskar Karl Forster Scholarship
The Oskar Karl Forster Scholarship Fund awards one-off grants to students and doctoral candidates in need at the University of Regensburg
- for the purchase of books or other learning materials and
- for printing costs of dissertations.
Talented and needy students (including doctoral students) who are at least in their second semester at a Bavarian university (regardless of their nationality) are eligible to apply.

You can now apply for a grant for expenses incurred in the summer semester 2026, i.e. between 1 April 2026 and 30 September 2026. Further explanations can be found below.

Scholarship
The Oskar Karl Forster Scholarship is a one-off grant of 100.00 euros up to a maximum of 500.00 euros. The grant is intended for the purchase of books or other learning materials, or alternatively as a contribution towards the printing costs of dissertations. The grant may not be used for any other purposes in accordance with the provisions of the BAföG regarding educational support.
The amount of the grant depends on the number of applications submitted and is only determined at the end of the application process. It can only be claimed once.
Requirements
Talented and needy students who are studying at a Bavarian university for at least the second semester (regardless of their nationality) are eligible to apply . In order for the grant to be awarded, the application form must include confirmation from the responsible professor or supervisor regarding the expenses and academic performance to date.
Proof of the use of the approved grant must be provided in the form of original receipts. The date of the receipts must be in the semester of approval.

The application with the necessary documents (curriculum vitae, proof of previous academic achievements, in particular copies of certificates, current BaföG notification, certificate of enrolment) can currently be submitted.
