560 Online Courses in the Winter Semester
Dear students of University of Regensburg,
In the winter term 2026/2027 we offer through the Virtuelle Hochschule Bayern (vhb - Virtual University of Bavaria) around 560 online courses including more than 80 courses in English.
At the vhb-homepage (external link, opens in a new window) you can find the complete course program as well as a list of courses in English | PDF (external link, opens in a new window). You can use it to supplement your studies flexibly both in terms of time and place. The online courses in 15 different subject groups are available to you free of charge. In all courses you will be supervised by trained e-tutors and you can earn credit points – ECTS exceptions are introductory and preparatory
courses. Please speak with the university’s examination office before you register, whether successfully completing a course can or will be recognised as transfer credits and/or included in your final official transcript. Of course, you can also take courses outside the field of study of your actual degree programme as a supplement.
37 universities offer their students online courses for cross-university use via vhb. The University of Regensburg is one of the member universities of the vhb. Vhb offers courses from the subject groups introductory courses, computer science, economic sciences,
engineering, health care / health management, humanities, information systems, key skills, languages, law, medicine / medical science, natural sciences, social work, social sciences and teacher education. See kurse.vhb.org (external link, opens in a new window).
You can also discover 45-minute learning units and materials from all subject areas in our SMART vhb repository (external link, opens in a new window). Just log into at any time using your university ID.
