Structure of the Program
Program Structure
The Binational Program is offered by the University of Regensburg in cooperation with partner universities in France, Italy and Spain and is designed for a duration of two years (four semesters). Depending on the option chosen abroad, it leads to degrees from both participating universities. Students spend the first two semesters at the University of Regensburg and the following two semesters at one of the partner universities abroad (Clermont-Ferrand, Madrid or Ferrara). In the Binational German-French option, a compulsory Internship of at least 8 weeks must be completed in the second year of study.
An academic thesis is also written in the second year of study. When studying in Clermont-Ferrand, it is necessary under certain requirements to take a final oral examination in the form of a defence of the Master's thesis.
In addition to the Binational Program option, a trinational variant is also offered, in which three partner universities are visited: Clermont-Ferrand, Regensburg and Madrid. Students begin their studies in Clermont-Ferrand, transfer to the University of Regensburg in the second semester and spend the third and fourth semesters in Madrid. In this case, students receive a certificate from the three partner universities.
It is also possible to study the Master's in Intercultural Studies only in Regensburg (without the option to study abroad). In this case, you will spend the entire duration of the programme in Regensburg and only obtain the German degree.
