The international workshop "Writing Bodies: Poetics and Practice of Embodied Writing" explores how functionalized body practices—framed by aesthetic assumptions, physiological theories, or religious beliefs—have shaped historical concepts of creativity, productivity, and authorship, and how these concepts, in turn, have transformed bodily regimes. By examining the interplay of bodily and discursive practices as mutually constitutive dimensions of artistic and intellectual production, the workshop aims to chart the cultural-historical dynamics of body-related techniques, practices, and regimes.

The workshop adopts an interdisciplinary framework that brings together literary studies, visual studies, philosophy, religious studies, digital humanities, postcolonial studies, and mobility studies. This diversity of perspectives enables a nuanced investigation of how bodily practices intersect with aesthetic, epistemological, and sociopolitical dimensions of writing.
