Leo Poss studied Business Information Systems (Wirtschaftsinformatik) at the University of Regensburg, the Otto-Friedrich-Universität Bamberg, and the Universidad de Huelva in Spain, specializing in IT Security and IT Finance as well as Big Data methods, particularly text mining. Before his doctorate, he worked as a student assistant at the Chair of Statistics and Risk Management in Regensburg and as a full-stack developer during his time as a working student.
From June 2022 to July 2026, he was a doctoral researcher and work package leader on the TRADEmark project (IoT-basiertes Daten- und Prozessmanagement im Handwerk), funded by the Bayerische Forschungsstiftung. He completed his doctorate (Dr. rer. pol.) with a thesis on "Human-Centric Process Management – Orchestrating the Operational, Locational, and Ethical Dimensions of Manual Work."
Since July 2026, he has been a postdoctoral researcher at the Chair for Process-Based Information Systems.
