German as subject in 'Realschulen'

i.e. secondary schools, grades 5–10 with an emphasis on practical and vocational subjects yet more academically oriented than Haupt-/Mittelschule.

German can be studied as a teaching subject in combination with other subjects for “Realschule”. Possible combinations of subjects are determined by the Teacher Examination Regulations (LPO I).
