Stein’s Commentary on the Code of Civil Procedure: ZPO 2024, 24th edition, 2024
Volume 1: Introduction and Sections 1–77
This Volume 1 of the 24th edition of the Comprehensive Commentary on the Code of Civil Procedure – once again comprising twelve volumes – contains the introduction and Sections 1–77. This new edition has brought about significant changes to the team of contributors: following the untimely death of Wolfgang Brehm, Christoph Althammer has taken over the commentary on the introduction. The commentary on Sections 2–9, previously the responsibility of Herbert Roth, has now been taken over by Florian Loyal. Herbert Roth continues to provide the commentary on Section 1 and Sections 10–37. Reinhard Bork continues to provide commentary on sections 38–49, and Florian Jacoby on sections 50–77. The commentary is now fully up to date with the latest legislation, case law and legal scholarship. The edition is published in 12 volumes.
Zöller’s Code of Civil Procedure, 35th edition, 2024
As one would expect from Zöller, the 35th edition once again has plenty of new content and a real highlight to offer:
All directly and indirectly relevant legislative amendments from the last two years since the previous edition. Right up to the very latest amendments, including those that were only passed after the summer recess but were incorporated by the highly dedicated Zöller team just before going to press. Fundamental revisions to Sections 542–566 of the Code of Civil Procedure (ZPO) (revision) and Sections 567–577 of the Code of Civil Procedure (ZPO) (appeals) following a change of authorship.
Not to mention the vast number of court rulings that had to be meticulously incorporated into this edition as well.
Munich Commentary on the German Civil Code: BGB, 9th edition, 2023
Volume 6: Law of Obligations – Special Part III, Sections 631–704
Volume 6 deals with areas of law that have undergone extensive changes. The commentary on the law governing contracts for work and services has been further expanded through a systematic analysis of the most recent case law of the highest courts. Particular mention should be made, for example, of the case law on the calculation of notional damages. The amendments introduced by the Act Regulating the Services of Engineers and Architects have been incorporated. Furthermore, the new provisions on consumer contracts for the manufacture of digital products have been taken into account.
Initial case law on the recent reform of travel law has been incorporated. The provisions on the Travel Security Fund, including the amendments to Sections 651r and 651t of the German Civil Code (BGB), have been taken into account. Furthermore, the special provisions resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic are explained. Significant changes in estate agency law have been taken into account, in particular regarding the allocation of estate agency fees in the brokering of purchase contracts for flats and detached houses. In payment services law, references to the Act on Strengthening Financial Market Integrity have been updated.
