State reception with film screening (26 October 2021):

“The Basic Document in Civil Procedure”

On 26 October 2021, Georg Eisenreich, Bavarian Minister of State for Justice, hosted a state reception organised by the Bavarian State Government at the Germanisches Nationalmuseum in Nuremberg to mark Civil Judges’ Day 2021. As part of this event, the research group on the electronic basic document had the opportunity to visualise the prototype of a basic document by means of a short film (available here). Judges from the Nuremberg Higher Regional Court and staff from the chairs of Professors Dr Althammer and Dr Wolff were involved in developing the prototype and producing the film. Due to the overwhelmingly positive response from the distinguished representatives of the judiciary who attended, the research project is now being continued in the real-world laboratory “Structural Guidelines for Parties’ Submissions”.

3rd Regensburg Forum on Procedural Law (10 September 2021):

on the topic:

“Procedural Thinking and Artificial Intelligence”

Following on from the 1st and 2nd Regensburg Forum on Procedural Law, which were devoted to the topics of ‘The Instrumentalisation of Civil Proceedings’ and ‘Foreign Legal Elements in National Civil Procedure Law’, the 3rd Regensburg Forum on Procedural Law has addressed a particularly topical development:

The ongoing digitalisation of our social order not only affects substantive law but also poses new challenges to established procedural law instruments. Key future areas of research concern the impact of digitalisation on traditional procedural principles, as well as the role of artificial intelligence in judicial decision-making.

Under the title ‘Procedural Thinking and Artificial Intelligence’, the 3rd Regensburg Forum on Procedural Law provided a discussion forum on this topic for all interested parties.
