Dr. Marie Beyrich
Marie Beyrich is a postdoctoral researcher at the Chair of Public Law and Politics at the University of Regensburg.
Research Focus
- Constitutional, Administrative and European Law
- Law and Politics
- Law and Society
- Comparative Public Law
- Foundations of Law
In her doctoral thesis, she conducted an empirical study of administrative practice in the implementation of the right to family reunification for refugees. The work combines legal-dogmatic analysis with methods of empirical social research and contributes to the study of law in action (see Beyrich, Recht nur auf dem Papier?, Mohr Siebeck 2024 (external link, opens in a new window)).
Her habilitation project examines so-called foreign agent laws and what they mean for democratic will-formation in the open state. The project brings together doctrinal analysis, democratic theory and comparative legal research.
