Here you will find all relevant information about examinations, term papers and final theses.

The Institute of Political Science would like to point out once again that if you have registered for an examination via RKS or FlexNow, participation is mandatory. Failure to attend will be counted as a fail. If you are unable to take an examination due to illness, you must provide evidence of this before the examination and notify the Examinations Office of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities.

Handouts

Guidelines for writing term papers, theses and divisions

Here you will find guidelines for the preparation of written work, such as term papers and theses. The handouts serve both as a template for formalities and as an orientation aid for structuring your own work and adapting it to the requirements of academic work.

Plagiarism

Plagiarism and deception

Plagiarism is the unlawful adoption and dissemination of another person's intellectual property. Paraphrasing text passages and adopting arguments and facts in a term paper without citing the sources in detail is such plagiarism! Submitting plagiarism instead of an independently written seminar paper is a violation of basic academic rules and constitutes an offence of deception (see Ministerial Gazette No. 23/1997 of 30 May 1997; MK announcement of 26.2.1997 - 622-74301, § 13, para. 3). As a legal safeguard, students at our institute are required to attach an affidavit to all seminar papers.

It is pointed out that "plagiarism cases" are exchanged between the teaching staff of the institute!

Forms and certificates

Please note:
All forms must be completed by the student and checked for accuracy. The certificates or transcripts can then be submitted to the course instructors or module supervisors for signature.
