Recognition of examination results
The following applications are forwarded directly by email to the Chemistry Examinations Office without the need for any further documentation:
- For the recognition of (chemistry) credits from the Bachelor’s programme in Economic Chemistry@UR:
Application for the recognition of academic achievements from the BSc in Chemistry@UR (PDF)
- For the recognition of credits from the Bachelor’s degree programme in Chemistry@UR:
Application for recognition of academic credits from the BSc in Chemistry@UR (PDF)
Application for the recognition of credits earned externally
An application for the recognition of credits obtained externally may only be submitted once, and must be done so within the first semester following (re)enrolment at UR. This also applies to a change of degree programme within UR.
Applications for the recognition of academic credits earned whilst studying abroad must be submitted promptly after completion of the period of study abroad.
Once the examination to be recognised has been sat, recognition is no longer possible. Similarly, students are not permitted to subsequently withdraw from recognitions that have already been granted.
One academic term is credited for every 30 recognised credit points (advancement to a higher level!).
Unless otherwise stated, please submit your recognition documents – preferably by email – to the

Enrolment for courses and examinations
Registration via FlexNow (external link, opens in a new window) is required for all faculty courses (lectures, seminars, practicals, field trips).

You can only register for or withdraw from courses in FlexNow within the registration and withdrawal periods! (As a rule, the registration and withdrawal period ends five working days before the exam)
If you are unable to register via FlexNow, please contact the relevant lecturer’s department secretariat, the programme coordinator (external link, opens in a new window) or the Chemistry Examinations Office before the registration deadline expires .

Bachelor’s degree certificate and Master’s degree certificate
Have you completed all your examination requirements and would like to apply for your Bachelor’s or Master’s degree certificate?
In the Chemistry degree programme, certificates are issued automatically once all modules have been recorded, without the need to submit an application . An application is only required if the documents are to be sent by post.
In the Economic Chemistry programme, certificates are issued following a formal application.
Here’s what to do:
- Check that all your modules have already been recorded.
- Complete the ‘Application for the Issuance of a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree Certificate’.
- Send the application to the Chemistry/Economic Chemistry Examinations Office

Achievements and examinations during a period of leave of absence
An application for a leave of absence must be submitted to the Student Services Office.
Examination requirements during a leave of absence
During a leave of absence, you cannot complete any coursework or sit examinations on your first attempt. Writing a dissertation also counts as an examination. It is possible to retake examinations that you have failed.
Retake periods
As a rule, retake deadlines are not interrupted by a leave of absence, unless the relevant examination regulations stipulate otherwise. If the retake deadlines continue to run, you must submit an application for an extension of the examination deadline to the Examinations Office in good time should you be unable to sit a retake examination by the deadline for a valid reason. A leave of absence does not exempt you from the requirement to withdraw from the individual examination separately.
Further information on leave of absence is available from the Student Registry.
Resit examinations
With immediate effect, enrolment/re-enrolment is also required for resit examinations! (Section 84(1), sentence 7 of the Bavarian Higher Education Act (BayHIG) – enrolment requirement for all university examinations)
